Who pays for the cloud infrastructure?
In a deployment in your own AWS account, AWS bills your institution directly for storage and compute. Our quote covers the platform, support and onboarding.
How are pipeline runs charged?
You see an estimate before launching. The maximum is held on the collection's billing account, and the run is charged what it actually used, up to that maximum. Any unused amount is released.
Can different grants pay for different work?
Yes. Each collection is tied to a billing account, and a tenant can hold several, so a lab with two grants has two budgets. Members can carry individual spend limits.
Can a shared tenant offer a starter allowance?
Storage allowances can be set per member, so a shared tenant can give each person a starting amount without one user consuming the whole pool.
What happens to our data if we leave?
Tabular data is stored as open Apache Iceberg tables in your own account, and files are ordinary objects in your storage. You can read them without ScientHouse.
